Out Standing In Their Field - super-deluxe

Steve Morse Band release the super-deluxe edition of their defining "Out Standing In Their Field" album on 16 May 2011 via Edel's international rock label, earMUSIC distributed in the UK & Republic of Ireland by Absolute via Universal. This edition features a live bonus CD of the show the trio played in Baden Baden, Germany, in 1990 which has never been available before.

The entirely instrumental "Out Standing In Their Field" album clearly reflects the remarkable talent of Steve Morse. Just as on the original album added to the fantastic 10 songs is a special bonus track: the live recording of 'Rising Power', The show from Baden Baden is packed with material from past albums and includes hits like 'General Lee', 'Ice Cakes' and 'Sleaze Factor'.

Steve Morse is known for his stylistically diverse compositions and virtuosity and was voted Best Overall Guitarist by Guitar Player magazine for 5 years in a row, qualifying him for their Guitar Player Hall of Fame. Combining rock, country, jazz, funk and classical elements reaching an unbelievable sound spectrum the strength of Steve Morse's fascinating guitar riffs leaves no space for lead vocals. In addition to a thriving solo career, he has been (and continues to be) a member Deep Purple and Kansas.

Steve Morse first rose to fame in the late 1970s as bandleader, songwriter and guitarist for the groundbreaking instrumental band Dixie Dregs. In 1983 Steve formed the Steve Morse Band. The trio of himself, Dave LaRue (Bass) and Van Romaine (Drums) create a fusion of intoxicating rock and experimental, purely instrumental, music.
