'Preparing To Leave' released 17 August

On 17 August 2009, Lunik release the hypnotic single 'Preparing To Leave, the follow-up to their radio smash 'Everybody Knows' (which topped the Radio 2 A-list for weeks after being debuted on the Ken Bruce show). As with the last single, the smouldering 'Preparing To Leave' was co-written by the group's talented and winsome lead singer Ja?l [pronounced 'Yile'] and guitarist Luk Zimmerman and taken from the stunning debut album 'Lonely Letters'. The single is released through FOD Records and distributed by Nova.

Riding the crest of a wave of radio play and critical acclaim, Lunik are something really special. The Mirror gave 'Lonely Letters' a four-star review saying, "Imagine a band pitched between The Cardigans and Crowded House with a frontwoman who can make spines shiver and knees tremble. Nice!" The Pop market is already falling for them with Sugar stating simply, "We love Lunik!"

'Preparing To Leave' is the shimmering sound of a band buoyed by confidence and blessed by great songwriters and performers. OK described the album as "like being wrapped in cashmere on a sunny Spring morning," and this single is set to serve as the brooding melodic soundtrack of the next few months. They are the full package, Lunik are ready to descend the Alps and start climbing the charts ? Europe is already in their thrall with very significant sales and airplay success in Italy and Germany in particular.

Lunik specialise in self-penned Pop songs that pack a lyrical punch as well as showcasing the band's musical chops and Ja?l's unrivalled "gorgeous haunting vocal" [Hitsheet]. Acclaimed producer Bob Rose has honed the band's natural talents and left them space to really push themselves to come up with something extraordinary. With 'Preparing To Leave' they have done so. It's time to open the door to Lunik.
