Winter Tour 09

Live Nation is proud to announce that Britain's best-loved rockers Status Quo will follow-up the enormous success of last year's "Pictures: 40 Years Of Hits" album with a 31 date UK Winter tour. Tickets are on sale now and are available from 0844 576 5483 or www.livenation.co.uk [tour dates over]. The tour kicks off in Bristol on 10 November and draws to a close in Bournemouth on 21 December.

The "Pictures: 40 Years Of Hits" album sold over quarter of a million copies in the UK alone last year and has accordingly been certified Gold, and the band can't wait to perform for the fans that helped them reach this milestone. The launch event for the album raised over ?110,000 for the Prince's Trust youth charity. The "Pictures" album became the band's 37th chart album and also their 29th to reach the Top Twenty - and that statistic puts them ahead of The Beatles. Quo now stand in the silver medal position on the all-time table [with only those pesky Rolling Stones ahead of them].

Last year, Status Quo were also crowned as Britain's hardest-working band in the Arena Venues category by the PRS (Performing Right Society) with 35 performances in 2008 to well over 300,000 fans. The 2009 Winter dates are a great opportunity to witness one of the world's greatest ever live acts doing what they do best. Francis Rossi commented: "Playing to our fans is still and has always been the most important thing for the band. Nothing beats playing live and this is as relevant today as it always has been".

Britain's greatest rock n roll band are still going strong ? don't bet against them celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2015!
